Thanks for stopping by! My name is Nivine or as my students call me "Ms. Bean". Though I LOVE my new nickname, I don't care what my students call me as long as they are safe and that's my job: to make sure your babies are safe by giving them the aquatic survival skills they'd need if they ever reach a body of water alone.
I was raised in Southern California where I spent my childhood on the beaches both there and internationally. I knew once I had children they would spend a lot of time near the water. I also knew I wanted my children to have adequate aquatic skills but did not want to teach them the old fashioned way-- you know: Throw them in the water and hope they figure it out. So I enrolled my daughter for lessons at a local swim school but became frustrated at the very minimal skills she acquired after being there for over a year.
In 2013, I saw a video of Miles, the toddler in the blue cotton jumper who falls into the water and then rolls back to float, and maintains his float for five minutes, fully clothed! I was absolutely amazed that a toddler could save himself from drowning which lead me directly to finding a certified instructor. I enrolled my daughter in ISR lessons that same night; this continues to be one of the best decisions I have made as a parent. I was amazed by the quick progression of my daughter's life-saving skills and the care my daughter's instructor took to ensure her safety at all times. My daughter learned more in the first 10 days of ISR than she did in the traditional swim program! A year later, I began my journey of becoming an ISR instructor. If given the opportunity to teach your child self-rescueยฎ skills, you will see that I'm very passionate about what I do. I hope you'll take this adventure with me to give your children these potentially lifesaving skills that will help them to build a solid foundation for a lifelong love of the water, and support the ISR mission to help see the day when "Not One More Child Drowns." I can't wait to meet you and work with your babies!
