Through the ISR Self-Rescue™ program, your child can learn specialized survival skills that help build a foundation for life-long, SAFE enjoyment of the water.

Lesson Structure:

ISR lessons are one-on-one with me, Monday-Friday (5-days per week), approximately 10-minutes per lesson, for 6 weeks and are customized to each child's developmental level.

Babies who can sit unassisted and crawl, generally 6-12 months old, learn to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe.

Children one year of age and older (up to 6 years), learn the hold their breath underwater, swim with their head down and eyes open, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool.

Children between 12 months and 18 months may not be developmentally ready to do the entire swim-float-swim sequence. Some may learn to swim- float and others will learn to roll onto their back and maintain that float until rescued. This will be assessed the first week of class.

*Regardless of age, every child will learn the survival sequence which is the focus of ISR.*

Once students are fully skilled they will practice ISR’s survival techniques fully clothed during lessons.

Every student is evaluated prior to beginning lessons to ensure the safest lessons possible. This process provides ISR with an in depth look at your child’s health and medical history. A non-refundable deposit equal to two (2) weeks of lessons is due when you sign up to secure your time slot. The 2 week deposit will be paid via PayPal or Venmo. The remaining balance for the four (4) weeks is due the first day of lessons and is also non-refundable. Tuition is due in full regardless of the number of lessons your child attends.

Refresher Lessons:

Your children will be due for important refresher lessons every 6 months to a year. Refresher lessons are essentially a condensed version of initial lessons.

Because children grow surprisingly during the course of a year and are continually developing new skills, these lessons help children adjust their "old" skills to their "new" selves. It is not unusual for children to not swim and float at the same skill level that they did at their last season's lessons. This does not mean that they have forgotten to swim or float, only that they need to practice their skills in their new, larger, stronger body.

The length of the refresher lessons will vary greatly based on the child's water experience and any interference that may have occurred since the last time they took lessons with me, ideally refreshers take 2 weeks. My refresher students will be staggered throughout the 6 week sessions and will have different start dates depending on time slots other refreshers have taken.

The registration fee for returning students is $35.
